Habito board made its Debut in China

2016-11-11

The 3rd World Internet Conference (WIC) will soon be held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, from 16th to 18th November. As a permanent site of WIC, Wuzhen Internet International Conference and Exhibition Center set an extremely high standard on the interior building materials regarding fire performance and formaldehyde emission. However, none of existing wall baseboards in the market could meet both requirements above at the same time. In March, when Habito board was presented to the decision maker of WIC project for the first time, it was immediately chosen for the project.

Habito board is a revolutionary product offered by Saint-Gobain Gyproc worldwide, with unique features of class A2 reaction to fire and class E0 formaldehyde emission. It also carries a high screw holding strength that rivals plywood. Habito board is an ideal substitute of traditional plywood in the baseboard application in China’s market, where customers have a growing concern about inevitable weakness in terms of fire performance and formaldehyde emission of traditional plywood due to its raw materials and manufacturing process.

WIC was designed by a team led by Wang Shu, the winner of “Pritzker Architecture Prize”. Taken into consideration of Internet features as well as China’s traditional culture and  water village characteristics, the center’s U-shape architecture demonstrates perfectly the Internet Spirit of Opening, Inclusiveness, Connection and Sharing. The whole center covers an area of 81,000 m2, which is divided into three functional areas: Meeting center, Reception and Exhibition center.

The project of Wuzhen Internet International Conference and Exhibition Center has fully completed and ready to welcome the ‘Internet guests” from all over the world.
