Our Approach to Green Manufacturing

Advancing Clean Energy and Low‑Carbon Operations

· Accelerating the transition to clean energy:
The site has installed a distributed photovoltaic system with a capacity exceeding 1 MW, reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions by more than 450 tonnes. In parallel, the company purchased a total of 60,950 MWh of international green certificates in 2024, achieving 100% carbon offsetting for electricity consumption.

· Driving the transformation toward low‑carbon, digitalized and diversified energy use:
Continuous energy‑efficiency upgrades have been implemented across key equipment, including smelting furnace dust collectors, transformers and compressed air systems. A digital energy management platform has been established to enable refined energy monitoring and carbon emissions management, providing data‑driven support for greener operations.

Promoting Resource Efficiency Through Circularity

Committed to circular economy principles, the company continuously enhances resource efficiency and advances the valorization of industrial waste:

· Closed‑loop water management:
A closed‑loop water circulation system has been established, enabling 100% wastewater reuse and significantly reducing freshwater consumption.

· Full utilization of industrial solid waste:
The comprehensive utilization rate of industrial solid waste has reached 100%, setting a benchmark for green manufacturing practices.

Extending Green Value Through Product Responsibility

Sustainability principles are embedded throughout the entire product life cycle:

· Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD):
The company conducts LCAs and promotes EPD certification to systematically assess environmental impacts from raw material sourcing to end‑of‑life, continuously improving product environmental transparency.

· Reducing product carbon footprints:
The Lumeos branded abrasives focus on lowering life‑cycle carbon emissions. Among them, the high‑performance sustainable product AZ25L achieves a 36% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared with standard products.

Putting People at the Center to Foster a Sustainable Culture

People remain at the heart of the company’s sustainability journey:

· Enhancing workplace well‑being:
Continuous improvements to the working environment, including sound insulation and noise‑reduction measures, create a safer, healthier and more comfortable workplace for employees.

· Embedding sustainability into culture and management:
In line with the Group’s long‑term commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, sustainability principles are deeply integrated into corporate culture and daily management practices.

Looking forward, we will continue to invest in targeted capital projects aimed at further improving energy efficiency, reducing electricity consumption, and minimizing avoidable waste, supporting a long‑term low‑carbon pathway.

The National Green Plant recognition reflects our teams’ commitment to sustainable industrial performance. In line with Saint‑Gobain’s purpose and sustainability roadmap, we will continue to combine innovation, efficiency, and responsibility—creating long‑term value and contributing to a more sustainable built environment.

About the National Green Plant Recognition

The National Green Plant program was launched in 2017 by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) to accelerate the transition toward greener manufacturing across the industrial sector. The initiative supports the development of a comprehensive green manufacturing system, contributing to national objectives on carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
