A Warmer Winter for Left-behind Children — Saint-Gobain PPL Charity Event for the Sixth Year

2020-01-02

Every child is an angle who deserves a lot of love and care. Saint-Gobain High Performance Plastics (PPL) has launched “Little Dreams Come True” charity event to help the “left-behind” unprivileged children coming from Zhangji Primary School in Huanan City, whose parents have to go out for making livings around the year.

In order to provide more chances for Saint-Gobain employees to participate in this charity event, various activities have been organized in terms of charity auction, charitable donation and on-site visit.

The Charity Auction was held on November 11, with the items donated by Saint-Gobain PPL Minhang and Thin Films Shanghai employees, and also from Saint-Gobain Partner - Bank of China Minhang Development Zone Branch.

After the high-acclaimed auction, our employees voluntarily financially contributed the “Little Dreams” of the children collected by the company in advance. Total 9 employees have become "dream-makers" to fulfill these little dreams.

On December 19, six volunteers from Saint-Gobain PPL went to Jiaoling Primary School to help children fulfill their little dreams. During the interactive activities, the volunteers and children completed the assembly of the airplane model together, hoping that they could fly like airplanes in the future. In the end, a short donation ceremony was held to help 31 children realize their dreams, marking an unforgettable and successful wrap-up for our charity activity of “Little Dreams Come True”.

It has been six years since Saint-Gobain PPL had the first charity effort for this school. Saint-Gobain is always willing to spread love and care to children with the commitment to continue this charity journey in the future. We are on the journey and welcome more volunteers to join us!
