Pierre-André de Chalendar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saint-Gobain, was awarded the “David Gottfried Global Green Building Award” at the World Green Building Council’s (WorldGBC) annual congress recently held in Stockholm, Sweden. Launched in 2011 and named in honor of the founder of the WorldGBC, this award is given to individuals whose contribution to the global green building movement has been shown to be unique, innovative and entrepreneurial.

“WorldGBC and the global green building movement have been inspired and appreciative of Pierre-André de Chalendar's personal commitment to green building, and his leadership in directing a major global corporation to pursue profitability and growth while also embedding green building across the organization. Saint Gobain’s ambitious emissions targets, its numerous programs dedicated to improving building for people, and the team’s continued support of the Green Building Council movement globally and locally in over 35 countries, demonstrate an unprecedented dedication to green building,” said Terri Wills, CEO of the World Green Building Council.
