On Nov 22nd, Saint-Gobain Sekurit (Wuhan) Phase II opening ceremony was held in Wuhan East Lake development zone. President of Saint-Gobain Flat Glass Sector Patrick DUPIN, together with French ambassador to China Mr. Maurice GOURDAULT-MONTAGNE and the management of Saint-Gobain Sekurit, participated in the inauguration.
With the high speed development of China’s automotive market, Saint-Gobain Sekurit China pays increasing attention to its local customers. The new plant will be dedicated to the production of tempered glass for back-lites and sunroofs, which complements that of Shanghai and Qingdao plants to meet the needs in sunroof market, as well as work closely with customers in Wuhan and west China region. The new products will mostly serve the local carmakers such as DPCA, Ford and Renault, and our tier-one suppliers like Webasto, Inalfa and Inteva. Together with our Shanghai and Qingdao plants, we can now cover most of the geography of China.
According to Patrick DUPIN, this new plant will be the symbol of high quality of Saint-Gobain Sekurit. The production line has been equipped with cutting-edged technology to ensure the breakthrough in auto glass manufacture.
The new plant will help to consolidate Saint-Gobain’s leading position in China’s automotive glass market. The Phase III of Saint-Gobain Sekurit Wuhan is under preparation with an estimated investment of 250 million yuan.
