The fifth year – Saint-Gobain will stick to focus the "left-behind" children

2018-11-08

On 20th Sep. 2018, volunteers from Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Shanghai went for their yearly charity event “Caring for the left-behind children”. This is the fifth consecutive year since 2014.

After more than 7 hours' driving, PPL team arrived at Zhang Ji Primary School in Jiaoling County, Huaian City. It happened to be the Chinese traditional “Mid-Autumn Festival”, so the volunteers not only accompanied the children for two days, but brought their best “Mid-Autumn Festival” blessings to all the children and teachers. They prepared every student and teacher a box of moon cake as festival gift, and also materials to make ice skin moon cakes together with children. All the children had succeeded in making their own moon cakes, they were so touched and decided to bring home those hand-made moon cakes to share with their families, which would be a most meaningful gift.

This year has been the fifth consecutive year since PPL launched the charity program at this school and they shared love and care with the children. It is meaningful to both the children and PPL, and we will continue the journey in the days to come.
