Since the kick off meeting from Mar 1st 2017, Eagle Project finished construction work and equipment installation on Mar 26th, 2019 under the joint efforts of project team from US Granville plant, Belgium Chaineux plant, Tape Solutions team at SGRS and various departments of Minhang site. On Mar 26th, PPL Minhang held the grand opening ceremony to celebrate Eagle Project completion with the presence of Marc Aerts (CEO Composite Systems), Phil Guy (GM Tape Solutions), Lucia Sun (Managing Director Greater China), Tape Solutions management team and around 40 key members of Tape Solutions SBU across Asia.
The success of Eagle Project makes current Minhang adhesive coating line equipped with foaming function. The modified product line can produce PUR foams for EV battery packs and Korel series products currently made on foaming line, which maximizes the utilization of adhesive line. And the capacity of foaming line can be released from Korel products transformation.
The new design of in-line mixing system had more detective function for process parameters and monitor the process automatically and intelligently. More accurate flow rate control assures better product quality. The localization of EV market foam help us respond rapidly for customer’s new requirement and shorten the delivery time, providing better service for rapid growth of Asia EV market.
Eagle Project is a successful cooperation result of 3 Tape Solution plants. It shows the model effect for future big project. Tape Solution related employees in Minhang plant also benefited in technology and project management experience from this Eagle Project.
